A character with this trait generally has been in some way blessed by the gods of Zamani with protection from injury or death in combat within certain limits. They would prefer this character survive to carry out a specific future action, to serve their desires or to amuse them later. They do not have to be a religious character to have this trait.
Since the gods of Zamani are not all powerful, their interference in the laws of probability in this manner is imperfect, but helpful. Whenever an attack roll is made against the character by anyone (even in cases of attack by Ambush or when unconscious) they will always use the defense column of the action chart two columns higher than they normally would for their skills, attributes etc. Thus the BEST someone can hope to be facing defense-wise on them, after all other modifiers, is that they will defend in the 3rd column on the chart.
Combat Luck will NOT raise a character's defense above the action table column of 100%. So combat luck is less useful to a character that has high natural or skill based defenses, but more useful when in a situation where such skills or attributes are not in play (such as when facing a surprise attack).
Alien Characters Cannot have this trait, only natives of Zamani and visiting humans that have 'gone native'.
This trait cannot be taken by characters with Bad Luck, Major Moxie, Crack Shot, or Sharpshooter.
