A character with this trait has a prophecy attached to them that fortells the method of their demise. They are immune to death in any other way than that which the prophecy notes, but this will eventually come to pass.
This may be something simple, or something complex, and generally has some obvious ambiguity.
Thus they may be told that there is a serpent involved in their death. This could mean they will be bitten by a poisonous snake and die, or that they will be thrown from a horse scared by a snake, or that they might die on a serpentine road that snakes up along a mountain, or they might die at a Tavern called 'The Red Serpent' or it could mean that a man with a tatoo of a serpent on their arm will run them thru with a sword.
Or it may be something very specific - like 'You will die on your birthday', or 'You will die when a comet is in the sky' or 'You will be killed by someone you love' or 'You Will Die Saving Another's Life' .
The GM will decide the actual form of death prophecy and inform the player, and then must make sure that the character does not die (that does not mean they don't get hurt!). Any damage roll that would otherwise leave the character dead, will always do 1 point less of damage, unless it has a connection directly to their prophecy.
The player may play that the character works to avoid the potential cause of their death, or sees the prophecy in everything that they do and expects to die constantly, or any of a number of other approaches to the problem. The GM should not go out of their way to force the prophecy to come to pass... somehow these things tend to work out.
Generally, since a Death Prophecy offers a certain amount of protection from fatality, this is a Favorable trait.
This trait is inappropriate to characters that are not native to Zamani.
