The history of Jarro is obscured by a lack of written language, and a tendency towards an abundance of myth, fact and legend blending together. Reliable written history begins at different time periods in different cultures and areas of the world, though as in most 'self recorded memory' there is bias based on nation and religious viewpoints.
Worse of course is the fact that there are magical practitioners who apparently can change written records and/or alter the memories of individuals. If you can change what a witness remembers then you can change the memory of events, if not the actual events themselves.
The continents of Zira, Urnara and Avira are the major development locations associated with history and humanity, there is also a mythological belief of another now destroyed continent (or major Island) known as the Empire Of Night where Harvin (Wyrdlings) civilization rose and fell in the very mythological times of history.
(The continents of Borchia and Lutetia appear to have been uninhabited until more modern times).
The major human cultural forces seem to have begin in the areas known later as the Opal Empire, Empire Of Tamarand and the Parthian Empire.
The most complex of these cultures in regards to their spread and complexity is that associated with the Parthian Empire, as it's expansion into Urnara (overcoming small nomadic and more primitive tribes) and eventually the Isles of Belcairn, and then collapse into a collection of competing city-states dominate a large part of recorded history.
The Opal Empire and the Empire Of Tamarand seem to have united a number of nomadic peoples to develop civilization, expansion to natural barriers and then continued with a reduced amount of external warfare or desire for vast amounts of expansion. This may have been because of the influence of their religions and gods, or may have been because of social systems and concepts of order that kept them from over extending themselves like the ancient Parthian Empire did.
