Languages

(Creativity Skill Sub-List)

Note that all characters get for free 5 skill ranks in their native langugage. Generally language checks are made when handling sophisticted use of your language skills, rather then normal conversational needs. Writing professionally, producing academic papers, presenting complex ideas, or translating requires generally a greater than 50% success ratio. A character using an Acting, Oratory or Fast Talk may be hindered in their success if they are using a language that they are not as well skilled in as they are in such skills.

Jarro Languages

Nearly all the surviving languages of Jarro include a written form, so generally literacy is presumed to be included when learning such.

*Aertav (Ancient tongue of Aerland, now seen as a dying language. No known root source.)
*Belgravian (Prime language of the Belgravian Empire, related to Lutetian)
*Dramon (Prime Language of Dragomir, has some ancient roots going back to Ziran)
*Flowmara (Prime Language of the Iracundia Isles, related to Sazan.)
*Kizo (Prime Language of the Kizo Plainsmen of Avira, rooted in ancient Parthian)
*Lutetian (Prime language of Lutetia, related to Belgravian, rooted in ancient Parthian)
*Nincho (Prime language of the Chalaka region of Avira, rooted to Sazan)
*Parthian (Spoken in the Parthian Mountain regions, modern version of ancient Parthian)
*Sazan (Prime Language of the Empire Of Tamarand in Avira)
*Sylvara (Prime Language of Perdrix and Veltland) in Urnara, rooted in ancient Parthian)
*Ziran (Ancient tongue of the Opal Empire, a Dead Language)

Dave:* Copied from Creativity comments* Languages - I could see languages being Logic skills. Knowledge of sentence construction, verb conjugation, vocabulary memorization - all seem like aspects better governed by the Logic stat.
