Opal Empire

An Ancient Empire that once controlled the continent of Zira for nearly 5,000 years.

It was a series of long ruling dynasties that held power thanks to it’s pantheon of gods and their powerful priesthood. It’s believed that the gods of the empire fell into squabbling among themselves.

They set their priests into a devistating kind of warfare that resulted in wiping out the ruling dynasty and inflicting wide spread disasters onto the general population thru their magic (plague, famine, drought, etc.)

Afterwards the empire was torn apart by external invaders, since the gods no longer protected the borders, and new religions and countries rose over the centuries. It’s language is now considered ancient and dead, and called mearly 'Ziran'.

The history of the Opal Empire is the second oldest of the recorded histories of the world, and is generally divided into three periods, based upon the three cycles of their religions (Early, Middle and Late).

There is some evidence that the religion of Aramhime The Preserver evolved from a Late third cycle minor deity of the empire into the current monotheistic religion that holds sway over much of the Dragomir Sultanate today.
