Persuasion

(Influence Skill)

This skill is used to convince someone, on a face to face personal level (and not in a situation with a crowd or group) to believe what they tell them, convince them to do something as being beneficial, merciful or ethically/morally correct to do, or to act in a specific way. It will not involve bartering of goods or services, promise of sexual favor or intimidating them in the process (if it does any of those things it becomes a different skill that is needed).

Persuasion can be used for spreading lies and gossip, or swaying someone to a specific side in an argument.

It is defended against by either the target person's own Persuasion skill or their Spirit.

If you want to convince a crowd then you need Fast Talk or Oratory Skills, if you want to use money as an incentive then you probably need Bribery or Trading and if it involves sex then it's Seduction.

Remember that Persuasion is not some kind of Mind Control. The more ridiculous, complex, or outrageous thing being requested or lied about the harder it is to use the skill.
