(Fitness Skill)
This is the skill of staying on the back of a beast, preferably with a saddle, in various situations. It includes the ability to actually put the saddle on an animal so it doesn't fall off at an inconvient time, and so that it doesn't harm the animal being ridden.
It can be applied to horses, camels, and a wide range of exotic large beasts. Generally a character should have a favored use related to a specific kind of animal to be ridden.
Riding without a saddle, with only a bridle to control the mount, is a -4 (-20%) to success; doing so without either saddle or bridle is a -6 (-30%) to success. An untrained (unbroken) mount gives another -6 (-30%) to success. If an animal is in a state of fear there is an additional -4 (-20%) to remain in the saddle and in control.
