The school of night is a magical organization without official religious or political ties. It has no formal physical buildings associated with it, and works on a Master/Apprentice structure of teaching with a heavy amount of secrecy.
It is perceived as being anti-religious by many, since it teaches that the ‘gods’ are just beings of power and not necessarily beneficent, creators or moral/just.
Motto : “The Power of the Night is for those who are willing to take the risk, reach out and grasp it.”
Some say that the school was established by Wyrdlings who have worked with night magic since before recorded history. Membership is mostly human and Wyrdling, but occasionally others join.
The school has only a limited interest in direct combat related magic, preferring spells related with stealth, information gathering, transport and the like.
Spellcasting of this school does not require incanctations. All Spells do require the use of hand gestures.
They cannot cast spells during Daytime Hours. They also cannot create spells associated with the production of Light (such as Images that produce Light, Blinding Attacks vs Vision, or attacks that are Light based).
They cannot learn spells from other Paths that require Incantations to function or Paths that require the use of Incantations in their magic.
They also cannot produce effects that specifically protect or reduce damage specifically from Light based attacks, or which make them invulnerable to Light Based attacks. Any spell that they take that is intended to create heat or fire will have an increased difficulty -4. Summoning spells can only be of nocturnal or twilight creatures and beings.
All members get a social duty to protect other members of the school from non-member attacks, protect their identity from those who would do them harm and offer them temporary sanctuary from enemies of the School.
They cannot take any religious Mystic Paths.
All members of this school get Nightvision as a free ability (no need to balance it).
